Hermes-Agent is Nous Research’s open-source agent runtime, not mine. This entry is my deployment of it. I ran it for weeks alongside OpenClaw and Feynman before settling on it: it just works, and its memory layer carries context across sessions. I hang small personal skills off it, and it’s the runtime underneath Scribe.
On macOS it runs as a LaunchAgent, which Sequoia’s undocumented Local Network Privacy enforcement silently broke (an EHOSTUNREACH at the network layer). The fix has the LaunchAgent ask Terminal, via AppleScript, to start the real daemon, because Terminal-launched processes inherit an exemption that bare LaunchAgents don’t get.
Limitation: that workaround is janky. It needs a Terminal window permanently open, and I haven’t tested it inside tmux.
